6:30pm Police officers who are conducting surveillance on Chris observe him exit his garage and retrieve his garbage can that the wind blew to a residence on the east side of Steeple Rock Drive, just north of his residence. After returning the garage can, Chris returns to his house and a few moments later, he drives the Lexus SUV going eastbound out of sight for a few moments. He turns north then back west and ends at Steeple Rock Place, stopping at his work truck for several minutes with the rear hatch of the Lexus and the doors of the truck open. He departed but immediately returned to the truck for a few more moments and then departed the neighborhood traveling directly to I-25 southbound.

11:05pm After Chris's interview was conducted, Officer Townsend is told that Chris may be headed to 12255 Claude Court (Nichol K.'s address) in Northglenn and to drive ahead to the address and wait for his arrival. Another surveillance unit follows Chris and as the units continued to follow, it's determined that he was not coming to 12555 Claude Court. They followed Chris and see him enter a residence on Jersey Circle in Thornton. They realize that Chris will stay there for the remainder of the night and all surveillance units are released for the night. Within 24hrs of Shanann’s welfare check & a day before Anadarko informs CBI agent Tammy Lee about Nichol K.'s work emails, it appears that the police already knew about Nichol and where she lived.

12:05am Shanann's decomposing body is RECOVERED; she's found in the fetal position in a "shallow 2-feet-deep-grave."
The 15-week-old fetus (Niko) is expelled from her body. Her time of death is pronounced as12:05am.
12:11am The house is RELEASED AS EVIDENCE; Officer Walje locks the front door of the Watts house and informs the Weld County dispatch that the house has been released.
12:59am reporter Matt Mauro posts on his Twitter, “Breaking: Chris Watts has confessed to killing his pregnant wife Shanann & two kids, says Shanann’s brother & a person familiar with the search.”
1:16am Frankie R. posts on Facebook, “I just want to know why my precious family my one and only sibling, my siter Shanann, 2 adorable nieces Bella and Celeste and her soon to be found out unborn son Niko. I just want 30 seconds alone with that heartless psychopath. May Satan have mercy on his soul. The cops drug their feet. he was the only one with them and backed his truck into the garage. Doesn’t take a genius to know who wAs suspect. My blood is boiling and the pain and anger and sadness I have in my heart. 1:50am A warrantless arrest affidavit is signed for the arrest of Chris.
2:29am reporter Matt Mauro posts on his Twitter, “Minutes ago, neighbors just created a memorial for Shanann Watts & her two little girls, who’ve been missing since Monday. Two independent sources confirm Chris Watts, husband & father, has confessed to killing them."

2:15pm CBI Agent Tammy Lee’s husband posts on Facebook, “People often ask me what Tam does & a buck thinks she wears a lab coat & test evidence for DNA, but this is what my wife really does. She sits across form people that are as close to purely evil as you find this side of hell & somehow, she always wins. Her ability to find the truth & obtain confessions in high profile cases is truly an art. Not to diminish the huge team effort that went into this case this week because it took thousands of man hours & hundreds of people, but I only live with one of them, so her role is the one I see up close. Tam is going on about hour 94 if my math is right since Tuesday & only about 14 of that has been sleep. She tirelessly pursues justice for victims who cannot speak or defend themselves with an energy that is hard to understand. Her job comes with a massive personal & mental toll but she never complains & she never quits until all the victims are located & the monster is in jail. I know that if my wife could ever meet the victims, she worked so hard for they would thank her. I’m biased but when it comes to interrogating evil people, I think my wife is the best anywhere hands down. We can’t wait for you to be home Tammy Lee, but we also know how important your work is & our kids & I are so proud of you. May God continue to watch over our amazing 1st responders & keep them safe. Shanann, Celeste & Bella rest in peace.”
3:00pm CBI Agent Tammy Lee posts on Facebook, “First of all, let’s be honest, I’m not smart enough to be sitting in lab coat testing for DNA. My brother would attest to that I’m sure. Second, a case is never solved by 1 person & it took an entire team to get Chris into jail & to recover his beautiful wife & 2 baby girls. To say I’m thankful for the group of hard-working bad asses I get to have by my side is an understatement. We all just came together effortlessly. Yes, even the FBI and this time it worked but the reality is never a pretty thing. Most of us couldn’t keep our day straight & I know I missed 1st coach pitch practice, back to school night & my aunt visiting from out of state. As did almost all of the investigators working around the clock. Thankfully, I have the most amazing husband. My mind was elsewhere, I cried on the couch until I blacked out, (name of child) curled up with me & fell asleep. Joey carried him to bed & I scrolled FB & was bombarded with people posting about the case & sharing video of Bella & Celeste. I cried some more. You want to know how hard it is, this is the raw reality. I’m not proud of my weakness but acknowledge it fully. I woke up this morning & was immediately snapped back to reality with a little guy throwing up. Mom life never stops. Luckily, dad is also home. So today is all about recharging with my mom & sister at the salon. I love everyone & I appreciate you more than you know. Say a pray for all of us, we could all use it. Rest in peace Celeste, Shanann, Bella & baby Niko. We will not forget you. I’ll not forget about you.”
